Gwynne obtained her BSc. and MSc. from the National  

University of Singapore. Her research during that time was in the  

phylogeny, species limits and species richness estimation of three  

families of Diptera (Dolichopodidae, Sepsidae and Corethrellidae). She  

is interested in the systematics and the biogeography of Southeast  

Asian plants, particularly with regard to plant-insect interactions.
